We are a hard working, close-knit team dedicated to creating an incredible product. Our headquarters reflect our unique culture; we have an office bar, a staff band, darts and table football, and a volunteer lunch team.
We’ve had a lot of fun in the past engaging our users through online competitions and live events. Now, we’d like to do more, so we’re looking for an designated events manager to join our growing marketing team.
As events manager, you will be responsible for the planning and smooth running of events and competitions aimed at our trade and homeowner audiences. While we’ve done this kind of stuff previously, there’s plenty of scope for someone to come in with fresh ideas to raise our game.
For homeowners, you will regularly run competitions, often with a home makeover as the prize. Whether finding ‘Britain’s worst kitchen’ or organising the festive Hero Project, you will plan and run the competition, then go to meet entrants and winners to create unique, shareable content. We’ve had great success in using these competitions for PR, so you will be responsible for delivering press worthy news as a result of the campaign.
We’d be nothing without our tradesmen, so we use events and online competitions to help them feel part of a wider community. You will be tasked with coming up with ideas to engage them online or in person at regular organised events. In the past we’ve had successful pub meet-ups, but we’re looking for someone to come in with ideas of how to use events to deliver more value to our trade members.
The right person
We’re looking for a creative person with a strong background in events; from ideas, to planning, through to completion. You will have an outgoing personality, with the ability to engage with people from all walks of life. Your organisational skills will be second to none, and you should have a motivation and knack for getting things done.
The role touches on a number of other skills too, experience in social media, PR and content creation would be invaluable. If these are new to you, that’s not a problem, we encourage intellectual curiosity and welcome those that would like to develop these skills. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is a great fit for the team.
