MyBuilder.com was founded by Ryan Notz, a former tradesman who continues to run the business from a tradesman’s perspective. Until recently, the balance of our marketplace meant that we’ve always needed more jobs, not tradesmen. Now that job numbers are ramping up, our proposition to tradesmen has never been stronger. We need to recruit new tradesmen and we need a superstar marketer to help make that happen.
This role is all about tradesmen. Understanding and respecting tradesmen is a must, and that means having experience working with them - preferably as a marketer. This is primarily an acquisition role, though trade retention is always a big priority for the whole team (with retention efforts spanning product, marketing and customer service).
You would have a clean slate.
It’s a new role and our world is your oyster. We need fresh ideas but most importantly, someone with the energy and skills to get things done. Whether it’s advertising, partnerships, events, sales, SEM, social media or something a bit out of the ordinary, you will find ways to get more tradesmen joining MyBuilder, with support from the rest of the team.

We’re a small, tight knit team and we’re picky about who we hire. We look for people who are intellectually curious, hard working, honest and courageous. We like to work with people who are passionate about their jobs and enjoy their work. Life is too short for anything less.
We need someone who is confident pitching to a variety of people: tradesmen, builders, homeowners, trade bodies, executives at Travis Perkins Group (our investors and partners), and other potential partners and customers.
We are a technology company. This means that web tech permeates our culture and our world class tech team sits at the core. To get on at MyBuilder as a non technical person, you must (at the very least) be passionate about the web and interested in its technology. With the right attitude towards technology, MyBuilder is a great place to learn and develop.
MyBuilder.com started with an original idea back in 2004, because our founder was a tradesman who experienced the dysfunctional industry firsthand. Since then, we’ve worked hard to create an award-winning web marketplace that matches homeowners with reliable, quality tradesmen. We won Seedcamp in 2007, received numerous other business and entrepreneurial awards, and have heavyweight backing from Travis Perkins, Channel 4, and many well known internet angel investors.
We’ve accomplished a lot so far, but we’re still a startup - with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. We want to work with people who are curious, honest, courageous and passionate. We are a close-knit team who love the web, and who are proud to be contributing to a successful and expanding business that is making a real difference.
