People Operations / Human Resources Manager

As our People Operations Manager, you will become known as a hands-on person who is always looking to make the Instapro Group a place where people love coming to work, who cares about and loves working with others and as someone who can juggle competing demands reliably getting the job done with a smile on your face.

You will report to the VP of Human Resources and work closely with the People Team across our other European businesses. This role will be based out of our London office with options to work hybrid.

The People Team is focused on making the Instapro Group a great place to work. Having made a significant investment in our organisation and now merging with our wider European business, we are looking for an experienced People Operations / Human Resources Manager who will champion our workplace, support our people and help drive a wide range of employee initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Your role includes the following:

  • Manage employee life cycle activities for all team members including assisting with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, offers, contracts, onboarding and offboarding
  • Manage our HRIS, ATS and other people operations software
  • Support managers and team members on all operational HR matters
  • Help finance run monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Advise the management team on changes to employment law
  • Work with the wider European People Ops team to develop our HR strategy, processes, and programmes
  • Own and promote our employee benefits programme
  • Create and share internal communications relating to changes in the workplace
  • Organise team events, including ‘office days’, Summer and Christmas parties
  • Office management (short-term until we hire an office manager/HR generalist). High-level responsibilities to include: Manage our brand new office and hybrid workplace planning, health and safety, risk assessments and first aid, landlord/tenant representative and point of contact for concierge, and security

Role requirements

  • A degree in business administration, social sciences or a comparable qualification
  • 5+ years experience working in human resources or people operations with experience as an HR Manager, preferably at a fast-growing startup or scale-up
  • CIPD Level 5 or above
  • Effective at building relationships at all levels
  • A natural, confident written and verbal communicator
  • Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Able to prioritise tasks without direction in order to meet business goals
  • Focused on delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget
  • Strong knowledge of and practical experience in UK employment law
  • Comfortable with technology and software

Our London office is in the heart of Dickensian Clerkenwell, a short hop from Farringdon station amid some of the best pubs, restaurants and coffee shops in London. Exmouth Market is on our doorstep, but if you just want to hang out in the office, that’s fine too - we have two floors stuffed with high-end tech, an espresso machine, fridges packed with snacks and drinks, and lots of games to play.
