Talent acquisition manager

SOS! MyBuilder has reached the stage where we simply can’t keep up with our hiring needs. Our heads are dipping below the water’s surface and we need help from above. But if divine aid isn’t forthcoming, we’d be very happy with a super awesome talent manager. This is a good problem to have of course, so we won’t complain too much. Business is booming and we’re excited about growing the team. But we’re picky. Very picky. Every company says this, but only we really mean it. For the wrong person (a mere recruiter), this will be a very frustrating role, with the hiring manager saying ‘no’ much more often than you feared.

So if we’re not looking for a recruiter, who are we looking for? We want someone who wants to be a part of the team. Someone who thinks like a hiring manager. We don’t want to put bums on seats - we want to build on an already outstanding team and we will wait for the right people. A high performing team like ours expects to work with others who are equally brilliant, hard working and passionate about what they do. We need the best, and that starts with getting the best talent manager.

What does the role entrail? Recruiting activities to start with. How do you go about getting all these fantastic people? This is where the creativity comes in. The world is your oyster. Writing brilliant job ads, attending and even creating events, screening CVs, cover letters, phone interviews and face to face interviews. You’ll have to work closely with the hiring managers because at the end of the day you are supporting them. We do not have hiring targets. When it comes to quality vs quantity, we choose quality. Some roles are incredibly hard to fill and you just have to keep at it and be patient.
